Vol.9A luxurious sauna where you can enjoy the fresh air - Enjoy the sauna on your trip in Sapporo
Why not add a sauna to your stay? Sauna lovers can enjoy a truly relaxing experience. Beginners can make their sauna debut a memorable one.
This time, we will introduce two hotels in Sapporo that have comprehensive sauna facilities exclusively for guests staying overnight.
"You'll understand once you try the sauna"
First up is DANSETSU SAPPORO(hereafter referred to as DANSETSU), a hotel that has been gaining attention among sauna lovers since its opening in spring 2025.
The Large Public Bath is equipped with natural hot springs, a sauna, a cold bath, and an open-air bathing space, and is packed with many special features.
According to Dai Matsuo, the "master of DANSETSU" sauna, "It's simple but uses good materials. It's a sauna that you can tell the difference in once you step inside."

Here are some of our special features.
The sauna stones surrounding the large sauna stove are made of peridotite from Hidaka, Hokkaido, which retains heat well and gently spreads the auto-loyly steam.
The sauna walls are lined with stumps of Western Red Cedar trees over 300 years old. These rare trees were imported from Canada and give off a faintly sweet fragrance.
・Charcoal is used on the walls of the cold bath, increasing the purity of the water that flows down the walls, making it feel smooth on the skin.

The outdoor bathing space is especially popular with guests.
The wooden chairs lined up in the calm space are custom-made items that have been created to provide the most relaxing angle.
It's the perfect time to lie down and enjoy the fresh air.
Warm up in the sauna, tighten up in the cold bath, and relax in the open air - it's a cycle you'll want to repeat over and over again.

Authentic sauna in the guest room
DANSETSU also offers rooms with private saunas. If you would like to enjoy the sauna at your own pace, we recommend staying in a "suite with sauna" or "premium twin with sauna."
The facility is equipped to allow you to fully enjoy the sauna, with a temperature-adjustable sauna room, a sauna stove that allows for self-louvering, and a cold bath with a chiller.
Guests staying in rooms with saunas can also use the private lounge, which offers coffee, sports drinks, beer, snacks, and more, perfect for after a sauna session.

Sauna on the top floor
Another hotel we would like to introduce is hotel androoms Sapporo Susukino(hereinafter referred to as "androoms Sapporo").
The hotel is also attractively located just a short walk from the Hosui-Susukino subway station, allowing guests to walk to Sapporo's downtown area.

The sauna on the top floor of the hotel is spacious, with a HARVIA sauna stove in the center and two tiers of benches on either side.
With subdued lighting, gentle background music, and the self-louver steam spreading, your body will quietly warm up.
The "master of tonkotsu" who created this sauna called it "a sauna with a calming atmosphere where you can enter your own world" and named it the "meditation sauna."

To cool down, you can take a cold shower and take a bath in the open air. One of the three showers is equipped with a chiller, so you can enjoy cool water at a constant temperature even in summer.
In the outdoor bathing space on the balcony, you can experience the unique air of Hokkaido. Especially in winter, the cold air immediately envelops your body, providing an exceptionally refreshing feeling.
Enjoy the relaxation that only this hotel can provide in this wonderful space overlooking the Toyohira River and the cityscape.

Sauna available 24 hours a day
For those who want to enjoy a private sauna, we recommend the "Premium Twin Room with Sauna" on the top floor.
This sophisticated room is 50 square meters in size and equipped with a large sofa set. The subtle aroma makes the relaxing space even more special.

The facility is equipped with everything you need to enjoy a sauna, including a HARVIA sauna stove for self-louvering, a bathtub with a chiller, and a relaxation space with reclining chairs.
The facility also comes with amenities from MARKS & WEB, a Dyson hairdryer, and the fridge stocked with sauna staple "Oropo" drinks, further enhancing your satisfaction.
Androoms Sapporo also has private sauna rooms that can be rented out (4,000 yen for 2 hours).
Advance reservations are required, but same-day reservations are possible depending on availability.

Additionally, "Androoms Sapporo" and "DANSETSU" offer complimentary "Good Night Miso Ramen" to guests every night.
We've heard people say it was the best ramen they've had in Sapporo, making it the perfect bowl to enjoy after a sauna session.

"Rest and sleep are essential to achieving a state of mind. Hotels that value both of these things are the perfect match for saunas."
As the "Totonoe" master says, when you visit Sapporo, be sure to stay at a hotel that is perfectly suited to saunas.
*The chillers in both buildings are turned off during the winter to prevent damage from freezing.
